If you are an inactive member of the archive and/or fandom, and did not archive stories yourself in the past, please disregard this message. The archivist will take care of adjusting those stories.
1) Please log in to your account and take a look around, check to make sure all your stories are still archived, be sure to check any story that has more than one chapter to ensure that it's been archived completely. This is an important step, because a good number of multiple chaptered fics need to be archived again.
a) some users may have problems logging in. if you have difficulty and get a blank screen, or a 'not available' message, try one of these: 1) refresh the page, or 2) select to "go back." If after logging in you try both of these tactics, and still can not gain entry, please e-mail us and let us know so we can assist you. This is a bug in the system we're working on correcting.
2) We need you to log into your account and re-edit the ratings for *all* of your fics. Especially anything that was NC-17. We now have a pop up message for all NC-17 rated fics, but due to another bug in the system anything archived previously on 'always' has a blank pop up message - so it's important that you just re-select NC-17 where needed.
3) The following information is now required when editing previously archived stories and in future archiving: characters involved in the fic, warnings for readers such as violence or death and genre's. Let's say you're writing a fic that's categorized under "Alternate Universe", but you feel there's also some angst and drama, you may select those as well for the genre's.
a) to select more than one genre, character and/or warning, simply hold down your "CTRL" key and make your selections
4) Do NOT choose "long" or "short" any longer - we have to drop those 2 options as well. So, for your older fics that may be "long" under the drama category - just simply change it to drama. That *has* to be done, we will be
DELETING the options of "long" and "short" soon - so please move your stories.
5) We're also dropping the WIP (works in progress) section, you can now select "yes" or "no" when asked if the fic is completed. So if you have a fic currently that's a WIP - change the category to angst, drama, or whatever applies.
a) To choose "yes" or "no" when asked if your fic is complete, follow these steps:
- log in and go to your account page
- select 'edit/delete'
- you'll now see a complete listing of all your archived fics, on the left hand side where each title is listed, you'll see the "Complete: no"
- As you can see the "no" option is linkable, simply click on it and Efiction will automatically change that "no" to a "yes."
6) Our previous ratings system was on a scale of 1-5, the new system has a scale of 1-10 stars, 10 being the highest. This explains why some stories currently have a rating of 2 stars, when they were given a 5 star rating on the former site, the ratings didn't carry over equally. In order to rate/review a fic, simply select the [reviews] option located at the top of the fic, next to the author name/title.
